CF Games Open Announcement: Alright folks!  The first CF Games Open WOD has been announced!  If you’re not signed up yet, don’t delay!  Sign up at here.  Here’s how the next few days are going to shake out:

Friday: A few folks will be performing the workouts at the 6:30PM class this evening for logistics reasons.  Feel free to stay after 5:30 to cheer them on!

Saturday: Heats and schedules:

We will be running heats 15 minutes apart and we will post sign up sheets at the gym (you can sign up on Friday) for the heats.  The gym will open at 8:45AM, and the first heat will start at 9:15AM.  There will be posted warm-up for all athletes to perform and everyone is encouraged to show up to cheer on your fellow teammates!  After the WOD, we will be grilling out and having a little BBQ at the box!  Feel free to bring your own food items to grill and whatever you’d like to drink!

For those coming to the Open tomorrow, use today as an Open Gym to practice DU and work on snatch technique.  If you’re not coming to the Open on Saturday, perform the following:

A1. Push Press: 5×3 AHAP.  Then, go to A2 with less than 15 sec rest.

A2. Strict Chinups: 6×8.  Rest up to 3 min.

B. AMRAP 9:

12 Box Jump (24″/20″)

12 Wallball (20/14, 10′)

Post times, loads, and comments.

    * My feet/hands/rope steadfastly refuse to coordinate 20 minutes after waking up; even singles were sloppy. Good to know.
    * Snatch & C&J work — realized I’ve never actually worked these from the ground, always from a hang. Transition through my knees is iffy.

    Is it legal to essentially deadlift and then hang clean/snatch (as long as the plates touch the ground and end up locked out overhead for each rep)? Kristen thought it had to be one continuous movement from the ground, but wasn’t sure (and the posted video/standards doesn’t specify this) — could someone verify for me?

      I was just guna ask if we can deadlift, hang clean, push press. It seems like that’s ok according to the demo video. It just says floor to locked out overhead anyway possible… Please don’t make me snatch!

    Yes thats permissible. Ground to overhead anyhow. Pausing is allowed and does jot hsve to be one continuous motion since a CJ pauses.
