Test week is here!
The Regionals competition was this weekend and our coaches Kristen and Sarah both did awesome! I’ll have more to post about this tomorrow but my mental acuity is dragging right now so for now. For now, just know that Kristen competed as an individual and with a few inspired performances, finished the competition in 22nd overall (out of 39 competitors that competed this weekend)!
Sarah “Dunsey’ was on a team with some of her friends from Raleigh and that team finished 7th overall!
Happy Birthday to Roger!
WOD 06 10 13
A. 20 minutes to establish a 1RM Back Squat. Don’t get greedy. Better to make a small PR than miss because you missed that 10# jump.
B. 15 minutes to establish a 1RM Strict Press. (Use the micro plates – every pound counts!)
A1. Sometime between (A) and (B), up to 2 attempts to establish a max rep strict pullup or chinup. A frog kick is permitted as long as the rep begins from a dead hang.
C. Row 2000m for time.
Post times, loads, and comments.
Way to go, Kris!! Awesome job!!
Same with you, Dunsey, way to work!!
Happy Birthday Roger!!
Now that I can successfully post gifs, I am going to add a gif to everything.
T, you’re a huge nerd. 😛 Love it.
Posting GIFs: 60% of the time, it works every time.
Had a blast watching Kris & Sarah this weekend. Highly recommend going to watch a competition if you haven’t already.
A. 145#, not a PR for today, but still +10 from previous 1RM. My goal was to squat my body weight this cycle and I exceeded that so I am pleased with the progress.
A1. skipped
B. 74# (+6)
C. 8:46 (-25 s!)
Birthday? DAMMIT! Happy birthday Roger. I totally forgot you mentioned that. Have a great one!!!
I did my Back Squat and Strict Press 1 RM yesterday (silly me, messing everything up!). My numbers were 170# (20# PA but 5# shy of my 6/1 goal) and 65# (no change).
A. Did 1RM Power Clean = 93# (not sure if my previous 1RMs were squat cleans or power cleans? I seem to be confused…)
A1. Nope, didn’t happen today. I got my eyes to the bar, but that’s about it.
B. Did 1RM Push Press = 100# (5# PA)
C. 8:32 (7 second PA)
Nice work TFoots!
Thanks for the recap of the weekend Lei – from what I heard from those who went along to cheer Kris on it sounded like an inspiring weekend.
A. Backsquat: 196 – 1lb PA (I’ll take it with all of the back issues I’ve had lately)
B. Strict Press: 113 – 12lb PA (I’ll definitely take that one!)
C. 2K row: 8:42 – 13 second PA (still feel like I need to work on technique and pacing)
p.s. I sure hope someone posts their backsquat numbers from 4:30pm class yesterday…very impressive to watch!
113# press is awesome!
oh yeah…200lb club. I finally have membership.
Awesome, congrats!
Happy Birthday Roger!
