You guys go ahead and finish up any work you planned for today so you can watch the American Open weightlifting meet this afternoon. It starts at around 11am. Live-stream link below.
It’s Friday (Caturday Eve), so your boss doesn’t expect much out of you anyway.
…and for those that don’t know…there are a few representing NC crossfit gyms. Drew Anderson, Nate Schrader, John Dill (?not sure on this one but I assume), and Ashley Denton are competing. Also rooting for muscledriver could be thought of as local weightlifting peeps, as they are training out of “Charlotte”.
Seth, thats not entirely accurate. The oeople you mentioned are competing in a CrossFit Competetion called the Outlaw Open. The American Open is a sanctioned official Olympic Weightlifting meet where athletes will compete in the clean and jerk and the snatch.
I should clarify that most of the crossfit competitors will be streamed tomorrow as part of the outlaw “open” competition. This is a pretty big deal for crossfit (and maybe more so for USAW) to work together and compete together.

A1. 12, 9, 5
A2. 6 @ 105
B. Oh, there was a B?
C. 1413 (every once in a while, I get to be big man on campus.)
D. Pestered Lei on his runs during the 6:30 class.
A1. 9 @ 52# press. Feeling better about pressing since I started engaging glutes and hams. That queue didn’t click for me till recently.
A2. Did some negatives and worked on arm mobility. Got something funky going on with it.
C. 405 on the metcon. I need more practice snatching from the ground.
worked out at 4:30 today
A1. back squatted instead of pressed b/c i pressed yesterday, did 10@105
A2. skipped pullups
B. did 3×8 dips with a red band
C. 584, made all 8 snatch attempts at 73lbs
was almost always the first one out after the lifting, then watched as every round every single person would pass me on that run, thanks to Bonnie for cheering me through every single 100m run!! you’re attitude is such a great contribution to your gym!!!

I’ll be cheering for MDUSA too. Pendlay’s boys are my boys.
Also anyone associated with Cal Strength.
And Brent Kim!
He’s my favorite <3

Sorry I distracted you on B! Nice work Phil!
The pestering was definitely helpful, but not as helpful as hearing K’s footsteps.
