Fruit! usually strawberries sometimes blackberries or nectarines mmmmm now I want fruit 😀
Same here – once you’re off the “crack” (sugar) even mildly sweet fruits (i.e. blueberries) taste really sweet.
I think it’s worth saying here that while most of the calories in fruit come from sugars the up side of getting your sugar fix from fruit is that fruit is high in fiber, which will help prevent a spike in blood sugar and in turn reduces the corresponding insulin response that causes your body to store calories as fat.
Fruit is definitely a good one.
Beyond that, just not being hungry. Making sure I eat enough helps me to not have cravings to begin with.
Still though, nothing fits the bill once the craving is specific. I don’t crave sweet so much as ice cream, a candy bar or a donut.
Everything in moderation, just with sugar more so. If I need a donut, I’ll have one, but I also remember that I got a donut, and make that a treat and a reward. Making myself miserable just makes a different kind of un-health, which defeats the purpose of being “healthy”.
On a completely different note: FireStarter Challenge is looking for some judges on 6/21 and 6/22. If you are interested in judging, please email Kimberly@TriangleCrossFit.com. Thanks!
I’m sure they would allow you to judge only one day – both days not required.
For sugar cravings: Twix, donuts, or coffee. Also gin, wine, or beer helps.
Some inspiration for today. Hafthor Julius (“The Mountain” on Game of Thrones) performing a 996# deadlift:

6 more pound and then I’d be impressed 😛
