Yep – the wooden door you see is no longer there, but it was right next to the current side door as you walked in. The large wall you see is also non-existent. It was between where the side door is now and the power panel (right where we keep the slamballs/abmats/foam rollers).

awww I remember that, before we even opened! and me, Phil and Lei almost dying trying to assemble the pull up rig right in that very spot 🙂 and having to run around the outside of the building to get to the bathrooms.

Ohhh yes running to the bathroom!

Holding it was extra fun since you knew you had a 200m run to go!

Love the gym’s baby picture…..how cute!

I’m interested in a nutritional seminar, but if the challenge involves photos and/or weigh ins…..not so much. Is Chef going to provide cooking demonstrations, too, for those of us who are domestically challenged??

B- Yes. Nutrition challenge for life! Hold me accountable for my poor eating habits! but I do think greek yogurt is not bad for me and a very convenient source of protein.

I’m with ya, dairy (especially cultured dairy like cheese and yogurt) is fine in my book!

I find it hard to reconcile “dairy is bad for you, so don’t eat it” with “oh but you should slam a whey[dairy] shake post-WOD because protein”. Maybe this could be touched on in the nutrition seminar?? 😉

I watched something a long time ago, part of a seminar from the crossfit seminar group, this lady drew a triangle on the board and broke it into levels, and at the bottom of the pyramid was nutrition, over that was I thinking metabloic conditioning, the Olympic weight lifting, then gymnastics, and then something else I forget (it’s been a long time I saw this video before I ever did crossfit) but she goes on to explain that nutrition is the most important part of being an athlete and that anytime she sees someone hit a training plateu she can almost always find the cause being poor or lacking nutrition…. that 5 minute presentation made a huge impression on me. as athletes we need to recognize that it’s out diet that allows us to recover and grow stronger, but eating everything in sight like power lifter doesn’t work for body weight athletes because every extra pound of fat we carry on our frame is a pound we have to pick up and move rep after rep after rep. so I always think it’s a great idea to spread the good word about nutrition, beause to me it’s almost a religion (even though I eat pizza and Bo’s every now and then)

Nice post Wade. The video you are referrimg to is done by Nicole Carroll who is one of the original “nasty girls” from the Nasty Girls Wod video which is perhaps the most influential CF WOD video ever posted (I watched it an was inspired instantly..but I digress).

Nutrition is extremely important and we all have tontake ownership of what we stuff in our mouths on a daily basis. By the way, the pyramid order is actually (from the bottom: nutrition, metabokic conditioning, gymnastics, weightlifting, and sport is at thr apex).
